Laundry is an everyday essential for students, and Hokies have a few options for how they do their washing. Students can do their own laundry in our on-campus facilities or use our partnered subscription service University Cleaners to have it done for them!
On-Campus Laundry
Students will have a self-service laundry facility to use if they choose to do their own laundry. They can use their Hokie Passport, quarters, or an app to pay for the machines!
It is $2 wash/$2 dry per load of laundry. Doing larger loads could affect the cost, as students may have to run the machine multiple times.
What if a student forgets to check on their laundry? We know our Hokies are busy, so we have an app that will let you know when your laundry is done and help you avoid your laundry being moved or dumped. You can find more info about on-campus laundry online!
Speed Queen
If a student does their laundry on campus, they can use the Speed Queen App to manage it! The app is offered through the company that makes the washing and drying machines, Caldwell & Gregory.
How can students upload money on the app and monitor their laundry's status?
- Access step-by-step videos and more information about how to use the app or learn how to use the machines online!
The app offers:
- Flexible payment options, including debit/credit cards, campus one card or a combination of both
- Up-to-the-minute machine availability and notifications for when your cycles are complete
Laundry Web
All residence hall laundry rooms have been equipped with VT's laundry management system Laundry Web, which Hokies can log into at this link. You can find step-by-step instructions on using Laundry Web online.
Laundry Web can:
- Reserve a washer or dryer that a student wants to use
- Tell a student how many machines are in use
- Send a student a text when their laundry is done
The link to login to Laundry Web only works when a student is on the Virginia Tech campus. The first time a student uses Laundry Web, they may be asked to create an exception and accept the website certificate.
- Hokies must be connected to Eduroam WiFi to use Laundry Web!
