Summer Webinar Series for Families of New Hokies Admitted for Fall 2026

New Hokie families are invited to join New Student and Family Programs (NSFP) for our Summer 2026 Family Webinar Series! These live virtual sessions are designed to help families of incoming first-year and transfer students feel confident and prepared for the transition to Virginia Tech.

Throughout the summer, campus partners will share helpful guidance on academics, housing, orientation, move-in, campus resources, and ways families can support their student’s success. Each webinar includes time for Q&A so you can get your questions answered directly by university staff.

We encourage families to attend as many sessions as they find helpful. Each webinar covers different topics to support your Hokie’s transition to Virginia Tech.

Does the housing office have recommendations for off campus housing. My son is a transfer student and didn't get in to the Transfer LLC

My daughter was on waitlist was accepted late so signed contract on 5/27. She was told cannot be with roommate who is in same position as her. Each will be manually placed. When will she be told what dorm she is in?
