Move-in week is an exciting time for both our new Hokies and their families! While your student is diving into Weeks of Welcome activities, we have a lineup of special opportunities for you to connect, explore campus, and make the most of your time in Blacksburg.

Family Letter Writing

Write a heartfelt letter to your on-campus or off-campus Hokie. We’ll provide stationery, pens, and envelopes—letters will be delivered via VT Mail Services.

Resource Fair

University Club Open House

Mix and mingle with other new students and their families while experiencing a glimpse of life as a member of The University Club of Virginia Tech. Prospective members will receive complimentary hors d'oeuvres and choice of house drink. Registration is free and required; click the date you’d like to attend above to find the registration link.

Family Move-In Social

Enjoy a drink on us and light hors d'oeuvres while kicking off your family's Virginia Tech journey. This is a chance for all families to connect with the New Student and Family Programs team, meet other Hokie Families, and take a well-deserved break from unpacking. No registration or fees are required—walk-ups are welcomed!
