Incoming Hokies can apply for up to three Living-Learning Programs before June 6, 2025, to personalize their Virginia Tech Experience! LLPs offer Hokies:
- A home to find a community that shares their interests — more than half of VT students participate in LLPs!
- Enhanced support, faculty interaction, and mentorship
- Spaces renovated with living and learning in mind - community kitchens, maker spaces, studios, community lounges and classrooms
- Increased access to social events, professional development, and academic opportunities
Key Deadlines
Your Hokie can find information about submitting their housing contract and applying for LLPs in their Admissions offer packet!
- Housing contracts are due by June 1, 2025
- LLP applications close on Friday, June 6, 2025, at 11:59 p.m.
Applications will be reviewed approximately every two weeks. If a Hokie in your life has not heard within two weeks of submitting their application, they can contact livinglearning@vt.edu. Offers may expire! If a Hokie you know receives an offer, they should pay close attention to the dates provided in the offer email.

🔍 Impact
Impact is Living-Learning Community for Hokies interested in data analytics and its real-world applications. From beginners to experts — this community housed in Pritchard Hall does not require a specific major. Hokies in Impact will engage in:
- A required one-credit course about Data Analytics
- Networking with alumni, professors, and professionals
- Opportunities to tackle real-world data challenges
- Social and academic events to connect with peers
🧑🔬 Orion
Orion is a Living-Learning Community for Hokies majoring in the sciences, looking to build personal and professional skills for a successful career in science. Located in New Residence Hall East, Orion provides a close-knit environment where students get the support they need to thrive academically and socially. Orion also provides:
- Access to academic support and mentorship
- Shared courses and professional development opportunities
- Community activities that strengthen your scientific skills
⚙️ Engineering Communities
Hokies incoming in fall 2025 and interested in engineering may be interested in one of our three engineering-focused Living-Learning Communities, including:
- Galileo – For male engineering students
- Hypatia – For female engineering students
- Digerati – For students interested in computer science, IT, or technology
These College of Engineering LLCs are housed in Pritchard Hall where Hokies have access to:
- The InVenTs Studio, an in-house makerspace with shop tools, 3D printers, laser engraving & more! Newly renovated by Student Affairs Facilities and Operations.
- Study-friendly spaces – Whiteboard walls & dedicated lounges for collaboration
- In-house faculty offices – Get academic support right where you live
