Coming to Virginia Tech's Blacksburg campus as part of the capital construction efforts underway at Hitt Hall is Perry Place, a 600-seat full-service multi-venue dining facility on two floors of the building’s west wing.
Located in the heart of the North Academic District, the approximately 100,000-gross-square-feet building – with completion targeted for spring 2024 – will provide an expanded physical presence for the Myers-Lawson School of Construction and add critical dining and academic spaces to the region.
Perry Place will host nine dining venues, with eight of them being completely new concepts for Virginia Tech’s Blacksburg campus – such as Smoke, a BBQ smokehouse; AMP Coffee, a high-energy coffee shop; Fresh & Feta, an organic salad bar; and Solarex Diner, an all-day breakfast diner. The new dedicated dining space will provide plenty of seating for students to socialize and enjoy delicious meals in a comfortable, modern environment.
“Dining Services wants to provide a unique experience with each location, and we are making the extra effort to support and provide exceptional dining options for our students,” said Jeremiah Gardner, assistant director of Perry Place.
The opening of Hitt Hall and Perry Place is another major milestone for Virginia Tech, marking an expansion of the university's dining program and academic space. This will add a second building with dining facilities to the academic side of the Blacksburg campus.
Perry Place's location will also benefit off-campus students. The Multi-Modal Transit Facility is being constructed nearby, giving off-campus students easy access to food when arriving or leaving campus.
