As they enter their sophomore year, cadets will move from their first-year training company to a new company within the Corps of Cadets, where most cadets will remain through their upper-class years.
Highty-Tighties do not shuffle companies.
This shuffle is conducted jointly by the deputy commandants and senior enlisted advisors. The purpose of doing this is to give cadets a fresh start as they become upper-class cadets and balance the number of cadets in each company, which helps ensure equal leadership opportunities for upper-class cadets.
Company assignments will be announced in mid-April.
