Fall Family Weekend 2023
Registration is closed, but you can still come. If you did not register, send an email to families@vt.edu to let us know you're coming. Registration does NOT reserve space in any programs - see each program description in the Hokie Families Guide (Hokies on Track App) for event details.
New Student and Family Programs is excited to invite family members of any current Virginia Tech student to register for Fall Family Weekend, occurring from September 29 - October 1, 2023 in Blacksburg. ๐งกโจ๐ฆ
Registration is FREE for all attendees.
This weekend is a time for you to reconnect with your student and be in community with other Proud Hokie Families. Our signature events include, but are not limited to:
- Kick-Off on College Avenue, September 29, 5:00pm-9:00pm
- In partnership with the Town of Blacksburg and Downtown Blacksburg, Inc., we are closing College Ave. to kick off Fall Family Weekend and the VT vs. Pitt game weekend. Grab a beverage or a bite to eat at a downtown Blacksburg restaurant, and enjoy activities and entertainment appropriate for all ages. Activities include:
- Cornhole and other lawn games
- Music
- Beer garden
- Free swag!
- VT resources
- The "Future Hokies" Kid Zone
- Learning VT traditions
- Special appearances by our spirit squads (and maybe even the Hokie Bird ๐)
- And so much more!
- In partnership with the Town of Blacksburg and Downtown Blacksburg, Inc., we are closing College Ave. to kick off Fall Family Weekend and the VT vs. Pitt game weekend. Grab a beverage or a bite to eat at a downtown Blacksburg restaurant, and enjoy activities and entertainment appropriate for all ages. Activities include:
- Fall Family Weekend Tailgate, September 30, 5:00pm-8:00pm
- Free entry to a special tailgate for all Family Weekend attendees! Leave your tents, chairs, and coolers at home, and join us for drinks, food, music, plus TVs to watch the game.
- Football vs. Pitt Game ๐, September 30, 8:00pm
- After the Family Weekend Tailgate, head on over to Lane Stadium and watch the Hokies take on the Pittsburgh Panthers for Virginia Tech's Military Appreciation Game. Kick-off time 8:00pm.
