REGISTRATION:

Registration for Hokie Family 101 will open June 1, 2026 at 1pm. There is limited space in this program and admission will be granted to first-year and transfer students on a first come, first serve basis. The 9-week program will begin on August 24, 2026 and will go until October 23, 2026.

WHAT IS HOKIE FAMILY 101?

Hokie Family 101 is a new initiative from New Student and Family Programs designed to provide first-year and transfer student families with an interactive, semester-long learning experience. Hosted within a private Facebook group, the program will feature weekly themed content, live office hours, and content from campus experts. By engaging families in a guided, 9-week cohort, Hokie Family 101 will create a supportive and informed community that empowers families to help their students succeed at Virginia Tech.

WHO SHOULD JOIN HOKIE FAMILY 101?

This program is designed to support first-year and transfer student families in their transition to having a new Hokie at Virginia Tech. New Student and Family Programs will review registrations to make sure participants have a first-year or transfer student for Fall 2026. If you meet this criteria, you will receive a follow-up message with next steps. Please note: If multiple family members want to participate, they each need to register separately.
